This little peanut’s momma and daddy came in to meet with me before booking their session. I love when that happens! We talked about being pregnant, timeless photos, keeping it simple, newborn safety as it pertains to photography, and as I always do, I got to reminisce about when I was pregnant with my son, planning for his upcoming arrival. I love it! If you’ve had a newborn session with me, you know how I get! I’m about one step away from busting out in song, “It’s so haaaard, to say gooodbyyyye to yesterday.” 🙂

Little Jayden arrived just after Christmas day, and I had him in for his session just after the holidays. Here he is at just 10 day’s old, with the most devine cheeks and chunky rolls! What a gorgeous family these 3 make!

As the summer days turn to fall, the days start to get a bit shorter and the gorgeous fall sunset casts beautiful golden light over our town. When we get these perfect golden hour evenings, it makes from some gorgeous family photos! This evening in September was no exception! Little man Mavic is no stranger to my camera, this was our 6th session together, and a great way to capture him as he turns the big 2!

When planning this session, we decided to keep it simple and take Mavic down to the water and let him throw rocks, climb on a log, and just play with his family. The perfect plan for a busy, outdoorsy 2 year old, and it made for some adorable photos!

Mom and dad decided to preserve this time in their lives by creating a gorgeous heirloom quality album and a 7 photo, float mount wall collage. Here is a snap shot of the float mount wall cluster, still wrapped in plastic, before I delivered it to the family!

Newborn Hannah | Whitby newborn photographer

Chris and Julia contacted me several weeks before their due date, they wanted to meet and chat about the possibility of booking a session together. I LOVE when this happens! I love meeting new parents-to-be and having them into my studio so we can chat. We can get to know each other a little, talk about newborn safety, I can explain what to expect during a newborn session, give a little tour of the studio, and show you all of the beautiful options for finished pieces of your own gorgeous images of your new little one.

Fast forward to mid May, and baby Hannah made her appearance! Just after a week later, Chris and Julia brought little Hannah into the studio for her photos. She was a dream to work with, she slept the entire time and made my job easy!

Here are just a few of my favourites from Hannah’s session with me, and I can’t wait for her album and circle float mount wall hanging to arrive!

Baby Liam | Whitby Newborn Photographer

I have had the pleasure of photographing Ryan and Darlene’s (large) extended family, engagement photos, wedding day, maternity photos, and most recently, their first born son, Liam. When I see them now, I feel like old friends, even though all of this has happened in under 3 years!

Little Liam entered the world a few days before his EDD, on Dec. 12, and came in for his session just before Christmas at just 9 days old. It was cold outside, but toasty warm in the studio, so Liam slept through most of his session! And of course we had to do one little nod to the holiday season with a little reindeer hat!

2017 Tree Farm Holiday Sessions | Whitby Family Photographer

My 2nd Annual family tree farm photo sessions are my favourite day of the year! I have so much fun photographing so many families, meeting new people and welcoming back returning clients and friends from Whitby, and all over the Greater Toronto Area! I am also so lucky to have such an amazing friend who lets me use his vintage truck out at the tree farm, which makes for some amazing photos! Kids love it, parents love it, and I love it!!

This year’s tree farm sessions were a little colder than last year, but everyone was having so much fun we hardly noticed, right?? We didn’t get snow, but we did get a great day to cozy up with your family! This year I was also thrilled when we showed up to the farm and they had this awesome wood pile that we were able to use as a third setting for some photos. It was beautiful!

My only regret each year is that I can only do these sessions for 1 day, and they sell out in early September. My heart breaks every year when I have so many people asking to get in and book one of these sessions, but I just can’t fit any more in. SO….next year, I’m going to see what I can do about that! Fingers crossed, I’m hoping to open up at least 2 days for 2018. Watch for booking info to come out in August!

Kerry | Whitby Maternity Photography

I was so excited to capture these maternity photos for Kerry and her family. Maternity photos are one of my favourite to capture! It’s such a special time, and not one that typically happens too often in each of our lives, so it’s great to document his time and show how beautiful it is!

I first met Kerry during the holiday season last year. She brought her first son, Declan, into the studio for some holiday photos. He was just a little guy then, around 7 months or so if I remember correctly, so it was a lot of fun seeing him almost a year later, and seeing how much he has grown and what a fun little guy he has become! Kerry also brought this gorgeous custom made maternity gown, which photographed beautifully! She also brought a casual outfit, for some more laid back photos with her family as well. We met at Heber Downs, in Whitby, which gave us a great variety of places to shoot. Definitely one of my favourite spots!
